We’re confident in our ability to place a variety of SMT components. At Odyssey Electronics, we have five surface mount lines. Two of our surface mount lines are set up for low to medium volume production, and three of our surface mount lines are fully automated giving us the capability to build medium to high volume production. We perform manual assembly as well as automated techniques for placing radial and axial components for thru-hole PCB assembly. Our ISO process control, integrated with our paperless procedure system, enables us to repeatedly build a high-quality product. We’re diligent in our processes and documentation to ensure an accurate population of the assembly.
Printed circuit board real estate is becoming more critical. We have found it vital to not only offer wave solder capability but also to be proficient with the varieties of selective solder. Our team has experience with manual assembly, auto-insertion, wave, and selective soldering. When controlled properly, wave solder and selective solder return a lower cost, highly repeatable, quality solder joint.
Odyssey Electronics offers a full complement of test services to ensure products are reliable and fully functional. We have developed inspection and test procedures that verify the quality product. We begin with AOI and x-ray to qualify assemblies before they are tested. When provided, we use ICT, Boundary-scan, and functional tests to verify the product 100 percent, saving our customers time and money. For customers that require test development, we have partnered with local contract engineers.
To qualify the surface mount process, we have four automated optical inspection (AOI) systems. We inspect 100% of the SMT placements. For complex assemblies we also utilize AOI to inspect thru-hole components.
